This is SO important. This should be New Year True You blog posts #1 - 31 on repeat!
We live in a culture of comparing exacerbated by social media. Whether it is the house you live in, the clothes you wear, how well you're aging, your body shape, your career accomplishments, the behavior of your children... the list goes on. We each have something we're most sensitive about that we feel lacking when we compare to others. It is great advice, but very difficult to follow, to only compare yourself to the person you were yesterday. And even that has its dangers. Perhaps better advice would be to compare yourself only to who you were a year ago.
I don't have any simple, quick answers on how to live this out. Reduce time spent on social or other media that has you go into comparing mode. Spend time with people who encourage you to see how far you've come. And be that person for those around you.
We are all on our own journey, and every journey has its ups and downs at different times and in different ways. We're all where we're meant to be, and how that is in relation to anyone else's journey doesn't matter at all.
